Fishing Guide WoW Vanilla
Fishing is one of the secondary professions available to players in World of Warcraft Classic. Unlike primary professions, players can learn fishing along with two other primary professions. Fishing allows players to catch various types of fish from bodies of water found throughout Azeroth. These fish can be used for cooking to create buff-giving food or sold to other players for profit. To start fishing, players must first visit a fishing trainer located in major cities or some fishing villages. After learning the profession, players need to purchase a fishing pole from a trade goods vendor. Equip the fishing pole and find a body of water. Cast your line by clicking the fishing button on your spellbook or action bar. When you see a splash and hear a sound, click the fishing bobber to catch the fish.
Fishing skill increases with successful catches. Higher fishing skill allows players to catch fish in higher level areas and reduces the chance of fish getting away. Different zones offer different types of fish, some of which are required for specific cooking recipes or quests. Popular fishing spots include Stranglethorn Vale, Azshara, and the Hinterlands.
