European Super League Table 2021

The European Super League was a proposed annual club football competition that was announced in April 2021. The league was intended to feature 20 participating clubs, with 15 founding members and 5 qualifying teams. However, the proposal faced widespread criticism from fans, players, and football governing bodies, leading to its collapse within 48 hours of announcement.

The proposed format included two groups of 10 teams each, playing home and away matches. The top three teams from each group would qualify for the quarter-finals, while the fourth and fifth-placed teams would compete in a two-legged play-off for the remaining quarter-final spots. The competition was scheduled to begin in August, with midweek matches not interfering with domestic leagues.

Despite the initial announcement involving 12 clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea, the project quickly unraveled as English clubs withdrew following massive fan protests. By April 21, 2021, all six English clubs had officially pulled out, followed by Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, and eventually all other participating clubs except Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus.
