Escala en el Poker: Understanding Poker Hand Rankings
In poker, \“escala\“ refers to a straight hand where a player holds five consecutive cards of different suits. This hand ranks above three of a kind and below a flush in standard poker hand rankings.A straight is determined by the highest card in the sequence. For example, a straight from 10 to A (10-J-Q-K-A) is called a \“royal straight\“ and is the highest possible straight, while a straight from A to 5 (A-2-3-4-5) is the lowest.
When multiple players have straights, the one with the highest top card wins. If two players have the same straight, the pot is split equally between them.
