Edisto Island offers excellent fishing opportunities throughout the year. The current fishing report indicates strong catches of redfish, trout, and flounder in the inshore waters. Offshore anglers are reporting good numbers of king mackerel and dolphin fish.The best fishing spots include the Edisto River mouth, the creeks around Botany Bay, and the nearshore reefs. Live shrimp and mullet are the most effective baits for inshore species, while trolling with spoons and rigged ballyhoo works well offshore.
