Chicago Poker Rules
Chicago poker is a popular variant of seven-card stud where the highest spade in the hole wins half the pot. The game follows standard seven-card stud rules with players receiving two down cards and one up card initially, followed by three more up cards and a final down card.In Chicago poker, the player with the highest spade card face down （in the hole） automatically wins half of the pot, regardless of the poker hand ranking. The other half goes to the player with the best traditional poker hand using the standard hand rankings.
This creates an interesting dynamic where players might chase both the high spade and the best hand simultaneously. Strategy involves tracking which spades have been folded and calculating the probability of having the winning spade.
