Baccarat is a popular card game played in casinos worldwide. The game involves comparing cards between two hands: the “player“ and the “banker“. Each round of play has three possible outcomes: player wins, banker wins, or tie.
To start, players place bets on either the player hand, banker hand, or a tie. Both hands receive two cards initially. The hand with a total closest to 9 wins. Cards 2-9 are worth their face value, aces count as 1, and 10s and face cards are worth 0.
If either hand totals 8 or 9 with the first two cards, this is called a “natural“ and no more cards are drawn. If not, specific drawing rules determine whether a third card is dealt to either hand.
The banker hand has slightly better odds due to the game\“s commission structure. When betting on banker wins, a 5% commission is typically charged on winnings. |
