What’s next for Princesses Beatrice, Eugenie after Andrew fallout
Prince Andrew’s two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, have come under scrutiny following the slew of scandals that have caused reputational damage to the royal family.
Last week, on Friday, Andrew was forced to give up the use of his royal titles and honours, as released in a statement via the Buckingham Palace. He mentioned that the decision was made in discussion with the Kinga and his “immediate and wider family” as the accusations against him “distract” from the work of the royals. Advertisement
The York sisters have remained low-key profile, seemingly waiting for the storm to die down, but royal experts believe that this “will not be easy”.
Moreover, as Andrew’s late accuser Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl, is set to drop more bombshells, it is time that Beatrice and Eugenie both take next steps to protect themselves and their families from the public scrutiny that is to come.
“The challenge for Beatrice and Eugenie in this close-knit family is to carve separate roles from their disgraced parents,” Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital. “They are well-adjusted and have careers as well as doing charitable work. However, the York\“s brand is truly toxic.”
He warned that the “scandal is likely to worsen” after Virginia’s memoir is published, hence, it is only smart to take key measures
The two sisters skipped the British Museum Pink Ball, which was held the next day of Andrew’s announcement.
Royal sources have previously stated that King Charles and Prince William hold sympathy for the Beatrice and Eugenie, knowing that it is unfair for them to face the brunt of their parents’ actions.
Although, given the circumstances, it is unlikely that they would get any prominent role or duties from the Palace any time soon. |
