Sarah Ferguson moving into a separeate home to forge an independent life away from Andrew

Sarah Ferguson has been forced to leave Windsor property where she lives with her ex-husband Andrew, facing an uncertain future ahead.

The former Duchess seemingly failed to get sympathy from King Charles, who had previously helped her while she was undergoing cancer treatment. Advertisement

The 65-year-old will soon move into a home of her own as the former Duke agreed to vacate Royal Lodge, where the exes spent more than two decades together.

Fergie and Andrew tied the knot in 1986 but separated just six years later in 1992. Their divorce was finalised in 1996. Andrew moved into Royal Lodge in 2003, a luxury Windsor Great Park property once belonged to the Queen Mother, and Ferguson joined him there in 2008.

“She is going to be moving out and into a separate home,“ a source who knows Ferguson told PEOPLE.

The insider also rejected reports of Fergie\“s alleged demand for William and Kate\“s Adelaide Cottage, saying: \“She has never asked for a property or any provision for herself. She will continue to forge an independent life.\“

She will not relocate to Sandringham along with her ex-husband, a palace source has also confirmed.

Meanwhile, Andrew will relocate to a property on the Sandringham estate, his future accommodation will be privately funded by King Charles.

Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.

The move follows renewed scrutiny over Andrew’s past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who ended his life by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial, and continuing controversy surrounding the allegations tied to their connection.

Now, Andrew will go by surname for direct descendants of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
