Prince William new plans put George, Charlotte, Louis royal titles at risk
Prince William is determined in his resolve and will not let anything sabotage the monarchy even if he has to sacrifice the privileges of his own children.
The kind of influence the Prince of Wales holds in the Palace was demonstrated in the latest move made by King Charles for his disgraced brother Prince Andrew – who announced relinquishing use of his dukedom, royal titles and honours amid allegations against him.
William was known to be the biggest driving force behind the decision, even if he was not exclusively mentioned in the Buckingham Palace statement. There had been speculation about William being “toughest King that monarchy has ever seen” and it seems that he is proving it to be true, even before his ascension to the throne.
King Charles had implemented a slimmed down monarchy when he took the Crown in 2022, and now his heir is willing to take it further. William’s new reforms are set to put more royals and their title on the chopping block after sealing his shamed uncle’s fate.
According to a friend of the future king, cited by the Daily Beast, William’s own children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis – may have their titles informally “parked” until they are adults and decide for themselves.
Although, Prince George may not have much of a choice since he is a second-in-line to the British throne. It appears that William’s decision could have been influenced by his own scenario with his estranged brother Prince Harry, who left his senior working royal position in 2020.
The source explained that Charlotte and Louis – the spares to George – would have the choice to be working royals or lead lives as private citizens. Moreover, Prince William and Princess Kate have ensured that their children are addressed as “prince” or “princess” even by their teachers, staff, or family. |
