The unexpected medical condition affected his ability to speak and also confined him to a wheelchair.
After undergoing a brain surgery and taking help from a rehab, Tim now has regained his speech and he is taking full advantage of it to share his experiences with fans, making sure that he brings in an element of wit and perspective.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show star confessed that he does not fear death. However, he tries to avoid it just like every other person, but he is sure that he will welcome it in the end.
“I don’t fear death. I try to avoid it as I think we all do. But I suspect that, in the end, I will welcome it. I think it may be very comforting to go bye-bye. And I want to earn it”, he added while speaking in an interview on CBS Sunday Morning.
Tim further opened that he does not like people feeling “pity“ about him.
“I don’t admire self-pity much. It’s a [legacy] I’m most grateful for. ‘Why are you so important that we have to pity you?”
The Home Alone 2 actor further recalled the time when he was suffering the symptoms of the stroke.
Tim admitted that he had no pain, he only felt “weird“ thinking that he will have to learn to speak again. |
