Princess Kate is staying home to handle family business while Prince William heads overseas.
In the coming week, the Princess of Wales will remain in the UK to oversee her family’s move from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge, just as Prince William travels to Rio de Janeiro for this year’s Earthshot Prize ceremony on November 5. Advertisement
William, 43, will be flying solo for the event, where he and a prize council will announce five winners, each receiving £1 million for their groundbreaking environmental work. Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen and Sir David Attenborough are among this year’s judges.
Following the awards, the future king will also make an appearance at the UN climate conference in Belem, Brazil, on November 6.
Meanwhile, Princess Catherine, also 43, will manage the family’s relocation to the larger Forest Lodge estate in Windsor Great Park — a significant upgrade from their four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage. The new eight-bedroom property is said to be their long-term residence, one they plan to keep even when William ascends the throne.
The move comes after a quieter year for the princess, who has limited public appearances while focusing on her health and family life.
She last joined William at an Earthshot event in 2022, when the ceremony was held in Boston. |
