Mia Goth talks about her daunting experience filming ‘Frankenstein’
Mia Goth opened up about the pressure she felt to bring her character to life in Frankenstein.
She plays Elizabeth Lavenza, Victor Frankenstein’s adopted cousin and later fiancée.
Speaking at the film’s Los Angeles premiere, Goth reflected on what it was like stepping into Elizabeth’s world and portraying her on screen.
“I\“ve been such a fan of [del Toro] my whole life, like everyone. But it was also a lot of pressure,“ she told Deadline. “And I remember landing in Toronto and feeling very scared. I’ve never been more scared walking into a film.“
However, she also said that playing Elizabeth was “such an honour.“
Originally written by Mary Shelly in 1818, it follows story of “A brilliant but egotistical scientist, who brings a monstrous creature to life in a daring experiment. The birth of the monster than ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.“
In addition to Goth, the film also casts Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi.
Following Frankenstein limited release in theatres from October 17, it will premiere on Netflix on November 7. |
