Prince William kicks off new mission to honour Diana’s ‘great tradition’

Prince William, who has been actively been strengthening his position as a global leader with his important programmes, has taken another bold step toward continuing the legacy of his late mother, Princess Diana.

After wrapping his stint in Brazil, including the Earthshot Prize awards and the speech at COP30, the future King is now shifting his focus on a much more niche issue in his reign, a something that his mother had inculcated in him. Advertisement

The former Labour Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s charity is collaborating with the Prince of Wales to help furnish homes and bring attention to the issue of homelessness.

Gordon shared that the partnership with the future king, who is following in the “great tradition” of his mother, who was known for her campaign for a ban on landmines, spotlighting the stigma around HIV and AIDs, and spoke about issues  that were not given the attention they deserve.

Gordon’s charity will be providing essential goods such as cookers, fridges, washing machines, and utensils to help “houses become homes” for struggling families.

He praised William in a statement to The Mirror for his efforts to bring attention towards homelessness following his trip in Brazil.

“I think he’s following in the great tradition that was led by his mother, who focused on HIV and AIDS, she focused on landmines. She was someone who drew attention to causes that previously had not been given the public attention they deserve.”
