 Duchess Sophie makes a style u-turn in Peru
The Duchess of Edinburgh can glide from rainforest-ready to palace polished without missing a beat.
Stepping out in Lima on 14 November during her ten day tour of South and Central America, she looked every inch the diplomatic style chameleon as she arrived at the Government Palace ahead of a meeting with Peru’s president, José Jeri.
Currently four days into her visit to Peru, the first stop on a Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office backed tour that will also take her to Panama, Guatemala, and Belize, the Duchess delivered a masterclass in elevated elegance on Friday.
According to Royal Fashion Daily, Sophie made her statement in Erdem’s Violetta Draped Gathered Crepe Midi Dress, a floral number with a boat neckline, long sleeves, and subtle flashes of mint green.
Sophie teamed the dress with her trusty ‘Moneypenny’ clutch by Sophie Habsburg in a rich petrol blue and monochrome pumps.
The polished palace look was a dramatic pivot from the Duchess’s attire just days earlier on 12 November, when she trekked through the Peruvian rainforest in cargo trousers and Wellington boots.
Guided by Amazon expert Rey Mozombite on a biodiversity walk, she explored everything from canopy creatures to ground-level greenery all while sporting Penelope Chilvers’ floral ‘Monday’ blouse. |
