 Buckingham Palace makes announcement for public about rare royal treasure
The Royal Family holds a collection of a rich history and a treasure trove of artwork that dates back centuries taking account of Europe’s past.
The Royal Collection Trust, which comes under the monarch’s office, released one of its most precious pieces detailing the rich past of a Queen who reigned for a brief time but left a lasting impression.
A captivating artwork by an English artist from the Georgian era is put on display at the King’s Gallery until the end of this week among other historical pieces.
“To create this elegant drawing, Edward Burne-Jones worked in gold paint on richly coloured paper,” the artwork is described by the Collection Trust.
“Burne-Jones made many drawings using this technique but he admitted ‘I forget how I do it between one time and another, and it’s always an experiment’.”
It revealed that Queen Alexandra had bought this highly decorative sheet in 1904.
At the end, the announcement was shared that the public would be able to see the stunning piece of work and others by Burne-Jones in the exhibition titled, The Edwardians: Age of Elegance.
Currently, it is being held at The King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, which closes at the end of this week in London.
After this, there is another much-anticipated exhibition led by King Charles which will be held early next year. It will honour the fashion sense of his late mother Queen Elizabeth II. |
