King Charles breaks protocol to say sorry for waiting public
King Charles had been in high spirits as he marked the second anniversary of a special project that he had launched after he ascended to the throne.
The monarch launched the Coronation Food Project in 2023 to address “the urgent challenge of reducing food waste while tackling hunger”. The initiative deals with an important challenge faced by the underprivileged but it was one kind gesture from the Charles that melted hearts of many.
Charles had visited Fortnum & Mason, the departmental store, where he met with the representatives from Alliance Food Sourcing, as well as food rescue charities and manufacturers.
After he wrapped his royal engagement, he stopped before heading into his vehicle, seemingly breaking protocol for the waiting public. In a heartwarming video, Charles is seen sporting a big smile as he shook hands with the public that that come out to see him.
He began by acknowledging that they had to wait to go into the store due to his security protocol as they were “trying to get their shopping”.
“I’ve stopped you from going shopping,” he said, adding, “I do apologise.”
Charles was seen asking if they all were visiting while adding “great pleasure” to meet them.
He added, “Hope you all have a happy Christmas.”
At one point, Charles bent down towards someone and remarked, “very smart camera, very impressed”.
The King had noted that the public had “been standing over for long” and made a point to offer a kind gesture, melting hearts despite the chilly November weather. |
