Princess Beatrice ditches royal drama for birthday cheers as Edo hits 42

Princess Beatrice may be navigating royal turbulence behind the scenes, but she still found a bright spot to celebrate this week and it had nothing to do with her scandal stricken father, Andrew.

While the disgraced duke continues to shed titles faster than autumn leaves, Beatrice quietly marked a far happier occasion as her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi turns 42nd.

There were no public tributes as Beatrice famously avoids social media but the milestone comes just months after the couple celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, with Edoardo gushing on Instagram about his “incredible partner” and “most beautiful and amazing wife.”

Despite fiercely guarding their family life and keeping their children offline, the pair remain each other’s biggest cheerleaders when it counts.

Edoardo, founder of luxury development firm Banda Property, was right by Beatrice’s side at Battersea Power Station earlier this year as she hosted an event for Borne, the charity she champions to help prevent premature birth.

The couple juggle their glittering public roles with a bustling family, daughters Sienna, four, and Athena, who arrived several weeks early in January, plus Edoardo’s son Wolfie.

Beatrice has spoken candidly about Athena’s early arrival, writing in British Vogue that her tiny newborn was “so small it took more than a few weeks for the tears of relief to dry.”

Earlier this week, Beatrice lent her voice to The Borne Podcast to champion its “Every Week Counts” campaign, opening up about the isolation that can come with premature birth.

Speaking with Professor Mark Johnson, she reflected on the pressure many mothers feel to have it all perfectly under control.

“So often, especially as mums, we feel like we have to get everything right,” she admitted.

“And when you suddenly learn your baby might arrive early, it can feel incredibly lonely like you’re navigating it all on your own.”
