Charlotte Harbor offers excellent fishing opportunities throughout the year. Recent reports indicate strong redfish activity in the shallow grass flats, particularly during incoming tides. Anglers are having success with live shrimp and soft plastic jigs.
Snook fishing has been productive around mangrove shorelines and dock lights during early morning and evening hours. Use live pilchards or white bait for best results. Tarpon are beginning to show in the deeper channels as water temperatures rise.
Speckled trout are being caught in 3-5 feet of water over seagrass beds. The best action has been on high tide with artificial lures mimicking small baitfish. Remember to check current regulations and obtain proper fishing licenses. |
