Baccarat is a popular card game played in casinos worldwide. The game involves comparing cards between two hands - the player and the banker. Each round of baccarat has three possible outcomes: player wins, banker wins, or tie.
The basic rules of baccarat are simple. Cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value, aces are worth 1 point, and 10s and face cards are worth 0 points. The total value of a hand is the sum of all cards modulo 10, meaning only the last digit of the total is considered.
In traditional baccarat, both player and banker receive two cards initially. If either hand totals 8 or 9 (called a natural), no additional cards are drawn. Otherwise, specific drawing rules determine whether a third card is dealt to either hand.
The game continues with players betting on which hand will have a total closer to 9. Baccarat offers one of the lowest house edges in casino gaming, making it attractive to both novice and experienced players. |
