Baccarat is a popular card game played in casinos worldwide. The game involves comparing cards between two hands: the “player“ and the “banker“. Each round of play has three possible outcomes: player wins, banker wins, or tie.
To start, players place bets on either the player hand, banker hand, or a tie. Two cards are dealt to both player and banker positions. The goal is to have a hand total closest to 9. Cards 2-9 are worth face value, aces count as 1, and 10s and face cards are worth 0.
If either hand totals 8 or 9 naturally, it\“s called a “natural“ and no more cards are drawn. If not, drawing rules determine whether a third card is dealt. The player hand acts first - if total is 0-5, player draws a third card; if 6-7, player stands.
The banker\“s action depends on the player\“s third card. The hand with total closest to 9 wins. Winning banker bets pay 95% due to 5% commission, player bets pay 1:1, and tie bets typically pay 8:1. |
