The Allegheny River offers excellent fishing opportunities throughout the year. Current reports indicate strong smallmouth bass activity in the upper sections of the river, with walleye and musky being caught in deeper pools.
Water temperatures are currently in the mid-60s Fahrenheit, making early morning and late evening the most productive times for fishing. Anglers are having success using live bait such as minnows and crayfish, as well as artificial lures including spinnerbaits and crankbaits.
Recent rainfall has improved water levels, creating ideal conditions for drift fishing. Always check local regulations and obtain proper fishing licenses before heading out. |
